Meet our second #GoldieGirl, Amy Neville from amynevfashiondiaries. Model, blogger, and business woman all rolled up into one powerful package!
We met up for a shoot and to see what she is up to and what is coming next for her, check out the Q&A below to find out more.
First thing you do when waking up in London?
I would love to say I am a ‘get up and go’ kind of girl but I would be lying! It takes me a while to get going in the mornings, the first thing I do is make myself green tea and avocado on toast. I need food before I can talk in the mornings.
Breakfast in bed or brunch on the town?
Both. If I have been out the night before, breakfast in bed is the way to go, especially if I don’t have to make it myself.
What’s your idea of a perfect day off?
I can’t resist a day being pampered at the spa, other than when I am asleep it’s the only time I feel relaxed. Other than that I love lazy days in bed eating Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream (I am a sucker for junk food)
Best part about Autumn is…
The clothes. I love the change from Summer to Autumn, and of course when you start to buy for your Winter wardrobe!
What’s one style trend you wish will never come back in fashion?
Definitely shoulder pads and permed hair; this is just not a good look for anyone…
One fashion trend that you’re happy has come back?
I love that girls are rocking one piece bodysuits again. I am such a fan! Even more so when it comes to Prints as you will see a lot of on my Blog and Instagram feed.
Whats your favourite piece in your closet right now?
My personalized Bomber Jacket!
Describe your style in three words
Chic, colourful and fun.
If you could be born in another era what one would it be?
Without a doubt the 60’s
One thing people don’t know about me is…
I have always loved the camera, something my parents realized too so they signed me up to an agency from the age of 2. I also trained as a gymnast, I nearly ended up going into it fulltime. I loved the attention I got at school when performing 10 backflips in a row!
Favourite holiday destination?
I take a fair amount of working holidays but I have to say Dubai is a great place; I love the shopping and sun. I am going for New Year too!
One thing you can’t travel without?
I am a huge lover of music so it’s definitely headphones. There will always be music to suit every mood and occasion. If I ever forget them I rush to find the nearest store to buy another set.
Where could we find you on a typical Friday night?
I would love to spend more time going out on the town but because I am so busy I prefer to spend nights in with my friends, watching a move with some wine on the sofa.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
For years I doubted my confidence but I have learnt in my industry that being confident is key. No one can be confident for you. Just like most young women I felt insecure going to castings because you can’t help but compare yourself to others. I wish I felt good enough back then but I know this is something that you gain with age. I am in a good place in my life; I have great friends, an amazing guy, and great work opportunities.
What would guarantee you to get out the bed on a Sunday morning?
A sunny day, I love waking up knowing it’s sunny outside... especially on a Sunday.
What are your 3 favourite spots in London right now? (shop, market, restaurant, cafe?)
Sexy Fish is one of my favourite spots right, I love the vibe even just to grab a drink. Restaurant OURS in Knightsbridge is another favourite. When I am in the mood for tea and cake I go to Peggy Porchen, it’s a great match being the ‘sugar queen’ I am. I love a good cupcake.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modelling?
I worked in property for 2 years as an estate agent when I first moved to London before going in to modelling full time and it was great! I love meeting different people and showing people around amazing properties, it was super interesting. I am definitely a people person, I couldn’t be stuck in an office all day... it’s just not me. So if the modelling dries up I’ll be back to the property market.
What’s the most rewarding part of what you do?
I think it would be seeing the final images after shooting a campaign, I love seeing my look change for different brands and working with fun teams. Sometimes I do look and think ‘oh is that actually me’. I feel super lucky to do a job I love and get travel the world with it too. Although it hasn’t come without hard work, I wasn’t the girl that got scouted and started travelling the world, its taken years!
What was your favourite piece from the shoot?
Well as I am secretly a ‘jeans and tee’ kinda girl, I would say my FAVE is the GOLDIE gal T-shirt!!
What was your favourite part of the shoot?
Working with Kirsten and Michelle, they were such babes! I always love working with a fun team, it makes a huge difference to the final result of the images.
What’s next for Amy?
I am currently in talks with a few brands to work on my own collaborations for ‘AMY’ lines. There are a few meetings next week which I’m super excited to share with you all soon but it’s little top secret right now. There is so much to come so keep your eyes peeled on the GRAM @amynevfashiondiaries and my blog www.amynevfashiondiaries.com
